Thursday, June 2

* 6 p.m. -- Downtown Brandon welcomes Cruisin' The Dub on Rosser Avenue until 9 p.m. There will also be street vendors, barbecue and live entertainment.

* 7 p.m. -- The Brandon Folk, Music and Art Festival are hosting a free concert for evacuees, volunteers and the community at Princess Park until 10 p.m. featuring Ann Vriend from Edmonton; Neepawa's Rob Waddell, releasing his new CD and Brandon's own Sebastian Owl. Donations will be accepted for the flood relief. Anyone who would like to volunteer can contact brandonfolkfestival@gmail.com

* 7:30 p.m. -- Mecca Productions presents "Steel Magnolias" at the Evans Theatre, BU Campus. Tickets are available at the door, at Perfect 10, Hairistocracy, Ted Good Music, Pirouette and the WMCA box office.

Friday, June 3

* 5 p.m. -- Cancer Society's Relay for Life will take place at the Keystone Centre grounds from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Registration at 5 p.m. Register your team by calling Megan 571-2800 or Lori 720-8334 or register at www.cancer.ca/relay.

* 6 p.m. -- Brandon Conservatory Chorale presents the 30th annual Candlelight and Roses at the Victoria Inn with cocktails at 6 p.m.; dinner at 7 p.m. and choir performance at 8 p.m. Tickets are available from Patti 571-1604 or Christy 726-4212.

* 6 p.m. -- The Marquis Project of Brandon will be hosting a dinner banquet with guest speaker Dr. Jim Aidun at Sokol Hall. Aidun will be speaking on his experiences as a physician in rural Guyana, South America. Cocktails 6 p.m.; dinner 7 p.m. Silent auction and other entertainment. Tickets are $45 each or $350 for a table of eight. Call 727-5675 to arrange tickets.

* 7:30 p.m. -- Manitoba Arts Council and Deep Bay Cabin Artist Residency presents Meet the Artist -- Kevin Lee Burton, one of Canada's up and coming young filmmakers at Poor Michael's Bookshop, Art and Cafe in Onanole.

Saturday June 4

* 8 a.m. -- The Vincent Massey High School's English technical communications class is hosting a barbecue and garage sale to raise money for the Brandon Humane Society until 2 p.m. at the school. Barbecue begins at 11 a.m.

* 6:30 p.m. -- The Canadian Culinary Federation, Brandon Branch presents the Going for Gold Gala Dinner at the Victoria Inn with cocktails at 6:30 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets are $90 per person available at the front desk of the Victoria Inn.
